ABOUT THE POSITION

OCH Consulting is recruiting for Clark County, Nevada (located in Las Vegas, Nevada) for the Director of Human Resources role.

JOB SUMMARY

Plans, organizes and administers County Human Resources programs and activities, including employee relations, employment, classification and compensation administration, equal opportunity, and employee assistance and wellness programs; provides expert professional assistance to County management staff in personnel and related matters.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This class manages all human resources activities for the County, including recruitment and selection, job analysis, classification and compensation administration, employee training and development, employee assistance, employee relations and administration of contract agreements with employee organizations; and equal opportunity administration. The incumbent is accountable for accomplishing department goals and objectives and for furthering County goals and objectives in a quality improvement environment within general policy guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Personnel Administration, Industrial Relations or a field related to the work AND four (4) years of full-time upper-level management experience over a comprehensive, centralized personnel system, preferably in a public agency setting. Possession of an advanced degree in an appropriate field is desirable. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.

Licensing and Certification: Possession of valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
