Program Coordinator

Purpose:

Under general supervision or working independently, this position is responsible for coordination of a variety of community activities and programs.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

1. Develops and implements a variety of programs, projects, and activities.

2. Coordinates with existing organizations to address community economic or social service needs.

3. Conducts needs assessments and meets with community residents, leaders, and community

groups to identify needs and available resources.

4. Collaborates with other organizations to plan and develop programs and activities or improve

coordination of existing services.

5. Researches funding sources, develops short- and long-range plans, and compiles informational

reports.

6. Serve as City representative before community groups, businesses, and/or the media.

7. Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers.

8. Assists in the development and monitoring of project and/or program budgets.

9. Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans.

10. Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.

11. Ensures compliance with City and other regulatory agency requirements and policies.

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.

Position Description :

The I.D.E.A.L. Temporary Program Coordinator will support Welcoming Spaces efforts and Libraries for All initiatives and other ongoing I.D.E.A.L. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access in Libraries) programs. This role is responsible for coordinating projects, programs, and community events designed to foster an inclusive environment and expand access to library resources. Additionally, promoting resources and tools so everyone can learn, discover, and create.

Work Location:

Central Library - 710 W. Cesar Chavez St., 78701 (Austin, Texas)

Salary Range:

$22.73 - $26.77 per hour

Hours and Schedule

Part-Time/ 20 hours per week


Note: This position requires a flexible schedule. Hours and shifts may change to meet the department and program's business needs. Weekend hours, evenings, extended shifts, and holidays may be required.
