Description
San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is seeking qualified Clinical Psychologists with expertise in Integrated Behavioral Health. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required for these positions.

We are seeking licensed professionals, proficient in brief, evidence-based models of psychotherapeutic interventions with adult and older adult populations, to work at our main hospital location in San Mateo. The positions involve being a mental health clinician, coordinating and conducting psychotherapy for clinic patients, and working as part of an integrated team alongside primary care physicians, psychiatrists, and other medical professionals.

Licensed Psychologists fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

In addition to the license requirements specified below, the selected candidates will possess qualifications that include: The ideal candidate will also have a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from a regionally accredited educational institution and must have completed the required trainings related to providing clinical supervision. Possession of a California license in Clinical Psychology is required for this position, however candidates who have passed the EPPP exam and are in the process of receiving a California license in Clinical Psychology within a 90-day period may be considered in this recruitment but will not be able to start the position until license is obtained. Starting salary is negotiable, depending on experience, and includes a biweekly bilingual differential pay added to the hourly base pay, for bilingual Spanish positions. The incumbent will work with adult and/or older adult populations (Option 1) , as described below.

Option 1: Adult: Providing direct and preventive mental health services to adults and the various professionals, agencies and institutions serving the adult population.

Qualifications
Licensure/Certification: California license in Clinical Psychology.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:
Option 1: Adult - Two years of clinical experience with adults.

Open and Promotional. Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, Confidential and Management extra-help/limited term , and SEIU or AFSCME represented extra help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date w ill receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.

This is a continuous recruitment which may close at any time. The final filing date will be posted 5 days in advance in the County of San Mateo Human Resources Department.

The examination process will consist of an application screening (weight: pass/fail) based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions. Candidates who pass the application screening will be invited to a panel interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification . All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
