San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Clinical Services Manager II - Nursing-Correctional Health Services to plan, coordinate and implement comprehensive in-patient nursing services, including acute, rehabilitation and emergency psychiatric care, or to administer and coordinate comprehensive specialized nursing programs, including ambulatory care, public health nursing and quality assurance; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to these functions; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing programs; and provide highly complex staff support to senior level management on nursing services and programs.

The current vacancy is in the Correctional Health Services Division at the Maguire Correctional Facility located in Redwood City.

The ideal candidate will have Correctional Nursing experience; management experience in a correctional health setting; worked collaboratively with Public Health, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Sheriff's Office and Probation departments; conducted budget preparation and monitoring; and effective written and verbal communication skills; lead efforts and plan for licensing and accreditation requirements and actively participate in quality improvement and quality assurance efforts. Actively developing your reports through coaching methods and Lean management and scientific problem solving.

Security Clearance : This position requires that the applicant successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation and obtain/maintain a security clearance as a condition of employment.

Licensure/Certification : Current California license as a Registered Nurse (R.N.).

Open & Promotional. Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, Confidential and Management extra-help/limited term, and SEIU or AFSCME represented extra help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.

The examination will consist of an interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations, or a screening committee may select those applicants whose education and/or experience appear to best meet the needs of the position based solely on the information provided in the application materials. Because of this screening process, all applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination . All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California, and applicants must participate at their own expense.
