This is a professional position that serves as the Advanced Emergency Management Officer overseeing the Earthquake program, planning and projects funded by the Earthquake grant. This position advises and assists the Missouri Seismic Safety Commission and the Structural Assessment and Visual Evaluation (SAVE) Coalition in completing their duties and responsibilities. The position coordinates extensively with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Central United State Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC) other state agencies, and local governments to plan, organize, host or attend meetings to raise awareness of the earthquake risk posed to the State of Missouri.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



Candidates typically possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university: and, two or more years of professional experience in emergency management or a related field or verifiable experience in research and analysis, project management, grants management, budget/fiscal analysis, plan writing and/or a closely related area. Experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this position. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. However, overtime or unusual working hours are required during an emergency event. Moderate same day or overnight travel is required.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

$62,000.16-$67,000.08 per Year
