The City of Fort Worth Property Management Department is seeking to hire a Real Property Managerin the Real Property Services Division. This position will report to 100 Texas Trail, Fort Worth TX 76102. The Real Property Manager will perform a wide variety of duties including: 1) the acquisition of land rights to facilitate the delivery of the City's capital improvement projects, 2) maintain and manage the inventory of all City owned property held in trust following tax foreclosure, 3) disposition of real property assets, and 4) provide complex real property related administrative support to the Assistant Property Management Director.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Real Estate or other relevant field
- Five (5) years of management in the public or private real estate industry
- Two (2) years of direct supervisory responsibility.
- Valid Texas Class C driver license.
Preferred Qualifications: - Selected candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Geographic Information System software is a plus.
- Real Estate License issued by the Texas Real Estate Commission is desirable.
The Real Property Manager job responsibilities include: - Supervising staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
- Maintain and manage the inventory of all City-owned property held in trust following tax foreclosure, including property upkeep, sealed bid sales and lease activities.
- Facilitate the acquisition, abandonment and, disposition of real property interest for the City of Fort Worth.
- Oversees the timely delivery of land rights required to support City infrastructure projects; and participate in public-private ventures through the acquisition of private property land rights.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to senior management and City Council on the status of all matters related to the City's real property interests.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demand Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises.
Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
