A Fleet Analyst job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation & Public Works Business Services Division. The Fleet Analyst will provide complex administrative and business management support as a member of Business Services Division. The primary focus area will be in supporting the department's fleet a
nd management to include; managing the department's fleet master inventory, preparing of reports of fleet data for management review, serving as primary liaison for the department with the Property Management Fleet team and the Fleet purchasing team, reviewing repair diagnosis and reports for all equipment/units in the department's fleet, evaluating the suitability and necessity of repairs based on age and application of equipment, budget availability, cost and status of new replacement of equipment (repair vs decommission) and lease/rental contract availability.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Three (3) years of research and analysis experience related to vehicle cost management, replacement schedules, and performance benchmarking
Preferred Qualifications: - Valid Texas driver's license
- Knowledge of Government Accounting and Budgeting
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Knowledge of fleet industry safety, maintenance, vehicle technology, and market trends
- Experience with Fleet Management Information systems and fleet database management in areas of inventory, trends, usage, repair expense, and overall vehicle and equipment expense
The Fleet Analyst job responsibilities include: - Support Fleet operations through analytical, technical, and administrative expertise.
- Manage and maintain the fleet database, including vehicle and equipment inventory, usage, repair costs, and expense trends.
- Conduct budgeting and total cost of ownership analyses to support informed financial decisions.
- Monitor and apply fleet industry best practices related to safety, maintenance, emerging vehicle technologies, and market trends.
- Utilize PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP systems (e.g., Lawson, JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP) for cost tracking and reporting.
- Administer departmental processes and documentation related to fuel access, vehicle modifications, cost center updates, asset retirements, trade type changes, and fleet additions.
- Serve as a key member of the department's Accident Review Board, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with fleet policies.
- Demonstrate exceptional collaboration and communication skills to support cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with department goals.

Physical Demands Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.
Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
