The Position

The Police Property and Evidence Specialist / Trainee positionreceives, catalogs, stores, releases, and disposes of evidence and property held within the Police Department and pertinent to various criminal and other cases.
The department is looking to fill (1) position in either classification based on experience.

Police Property and Evidence Specialist Trainee - Annual Salary Range - $43,896.00 - $48,396.00

Police Property and Evidence Specialist - Annual Salary Range: $50,808.00 - $68,088.00

Qualifications

Recruitment Guidelines:

Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).
Police Property and Evidence Specialist Trainee:

Experience: One year of experience performing specialized clerical or technical duties. Experience in receiving, cataloging, storing, releasing and disposing of evidence and property in a law enforcement agency is desirable.

Police Property and Evidence Specialist:

Experience: Two years of experience performing specialized clerical or technical duties. Experience in receiving, cataloging, storing, releasing and disposing of evidence and property in in a law enforcement agency is desirable.

Medical Category: Group 2

Necessary Special Requirements

Physical Demands and Working Conditions : Work is done in a standard office environment or police environment and in the field with exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, tools, and potentially hazardous conditions. Employees may interact with staff and/or public and private representatives and will provide professional customer and crime- related service. Ability to climb stairs and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
