This recruitment is being conducted exclusively for current Workforce Development Program interns assigned to Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation at time of application, all others will be disqualified. The purpose of this program is to provide a pathway to full-time employment for individuals who have received training and demonstrated readiness through their internship assignments.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a full-time Park Aide at County Centers/Community Parks. This recruitment is primarily being held to fill one (1) vacancy at County Centers/Community Parks; however, the eligible list established may also be used to fill future full-time vacancies within the Department (County Centers/Community Parks, Modesto Reservoir, and Woodward Reservoir).

The Park Aide supports the maintenance and upkeep of community parks, county centers, and regional parks throughout Stanislaus County. Duties may include grounds keeping, light maintenance, and providing customer service at entrance stations in our regional parks. Entrance station responsibilities include greeting visitors, collecting fees, and handling cash transactions.

Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Classified Service of the County and is assigned to the Crafts/Maintenance Institutional bargaining unit for labor relations purposes.

Individuals who are in a full-time classification position are required to serve a twelve-month probationary period, which may be extended an additional six months, for a total of eighteen months.

Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).
