Description
Supervising Support Care AssistantSouthwest Community Services has an opening for a Supervising Support Care Assistant. Hours worked between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. receive an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.
Responsibilities: The primary focus of this position is to manage the direct care staffing schedules and supervise Senior Support Care Assistant and Support Care Assistant employees. At times, working directly with developmentally disabled individuals in their homes may be required.
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Knowledge of general care and treatment of individuals, including basic nursing, first aid, and emergency treatments. Ability to work with individuals with physical illness and developmental disabilities. Ability to perform first aid and emergency treatments as instructed. Knowledge of elementary behavior modification techniques, medical terminology, and drug classifications. Ability to prepare and maintain records, charts, and reports. Knowledge of facility practices, rules, regulations; and methods and techniques of supervision. Ability to evaluate the work of assigned staff. Computer knowledge and skills are also necessary to complete the job tasks.
Typical qualifications: Two to four years of relevant experience.
