Are you an energetic multitasker with a passion for animal care? The Wake County Animal Center Animal Services Supervisor position may be for you!

This working supervisor position leads daily operations at the Wake County Animal Center, overseeing animal welfare attendant and technician staff, while ensuring the compassionate intake, care, and treatment of all animals. You will be combining leadership with hands-on animal care, including administering medications, performing intake exams, and supporting humane euthanasia practices. You'll manage team workflows, hiring, onboarding, and staff development while ensuring top-quality animal husbandry, customer service, and population management. Working closely with the Animal Welfare Manager, you’ll help guide animals through optimal pathways toward live release-all while making a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of animals and community members each year.

About Our Team

The Wake County Animal Center is an open-admission animal shelter operated by Wake County Government and on average takes in between 11,000 to 12,000 animals each year. We receive all stray, abandoned and surrendered pets in Wake County. The Center works in partnership with fosters, volunteers and local rescues, to treat and rehome thousands of homeless animals every year.

Work Schedule: Sun-Sat 8AM-7PM, varying days/hours

Hiring Range: 25.79 - 30.08

Market Range: 25.79 - 34.37

Emergency Service Worker Statement
