The City of Chandler Municipal Airport is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Airport Maintenance Supervisor!

The position is scheduled to work Friday through Tuesday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are
Situated on 550 acres, Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD) is owned and operated by the City of Chandler and has been in operation since 1948. Because it is a City-run airport, Chandler Municipal is open for public use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CHD operates as a general aviation airport, which means it is primarily used for corporate and self-piloted business flights, sport/hobby aviation, flight training, public safety, and medical service flights.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with great experience in operations, looking to get into the exciting field of aviation! This position will participate in and supervise the daily operations of Municipal Airport staff, to include a wide variety of construction, maintenance/repair work for airport buildings, hangars, pavement, airfield lighting, security lighting, security fencing, aviation fuel storage/dispensing, as well as other facilities and grounds related activities.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 5 years of experience in operations and/or facility maintenance; and
• 2 years of supervisory or lead experience; and
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; or
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

If selected for hire, through our comprehensive training program, you will work on obtaining the following within 6 months of hire or promotion:
• A Maricopa County Dust Control Certification;
• An Underground Storage Tank Class A, B and C Operator Certification;
• A 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification;
• A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement;
• An Office of Pest Management License.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.

The examination process may vary if determined necessary.
