ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Election Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Election Officer position. This role will be assigned to the Administration, Training and Recruitment, or Registration Division. The ideal candidate will assist with the development and distribution of voter education materials, sample ballots, public notices, and informational flyers. Candidate will also survey voting sites for internet connection, implementing iPad OS updates, cradle point router updates, as well as troubleshooting, and providing poll pad support. Additional duties may include assisting with the development and creation of public-facing communications, ensuring brand consistency with Clark County guidelines, and writing, editing, and updating web content related to elections, deadlines, and voter services. This position also conducts Poll Worker and Team Leader trainings and complete voter registrations and registration updates while assisting members of the public with election related inquiries. Please note, this position requires mandatory overtime during various periods in the election cycle.

THIS POSTING REFLECTS THE SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THIS POSITION EFFECTIVE 7/1/2025. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ACTIVE EMPLOYEES ON 7/19/2025 WILL RECEIVE A SALARY DECREASE CONSISTENT WITH AN INCREASE IN PERS CONTRIBUTION. AS SUCH, PAY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND MAY BE REVISED.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school AND six (6) months of full-time technical or general office support experience. Prior lead or supervisory experience over paid or volunteer staff is desirable. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions: Work overtime or off-shift work on a seasonal basis.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, and to drive a motor vehicle in order to reach election and training sites as far a 100 miles; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; stamina to deal with stringent deadlines; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
