Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the front clinic patient flow. Employees serve as primary contacts for patients and are responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position may be responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may be responsible for cash.
Major/Essential Functions- Greet patients upon their arrival.
- Update patient information and enter it in IDX.
- Receive patient information and make appropriate notations in the system and PowerChart.
- Check mail, handle survey cards, and assist patients with signing up for My Team Care.
- Contact patients who have missed appointments.
- Verify insurance for office visit referrals.
- Submits thank you letters to the referring physicians and sends out office notes to referring providers.
- Notifying nursing staff of any changes to patient schedule.
Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. 3 years Customer Service, office or related experience, with 2 of those years in a healthcare or dental clinic setting preferred. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.
