Job DescriptionConstruction Technician I $20.59 per hour 1 PositionCollege Station, TexasThe Role at a GlanceThe Construction Technician I (6:30 am - 3:00 pm), under supervision, performs preventative maintenance and basic repair of Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI) fire field training props. This would include use of multiple trades’ knowledge, skills, and abilities such as welding, pipefitting, plumbing, heavy equipment operation, etc. This position is responsible for performing minor building maintenance and repair requests such as carpentry, drywall, furniture movements, basic electrical, etc. This position may also be required to support other programs.
This position reports to the Construction Foreman.
Qualifications of the Role - High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of maintenance experience such as: basic electrical, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic equipment operation, building trades, or construction experience to include any combination of the following: welding, pipefitting, plumbing, concrete, basic electrical, carpentry, heavy equipment operation, and use of hand/power tools.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Completes listed out-sourced training as available within 6 months to include: ESTI Safety Orientation, Skid Steer Loader, Forklift, Material Handler, Man Lift, Iron Worker, Riding Mowers, and Mule.
- Obtains listed certifications as available within 18 months to include: 24-hour welding, LPG Installation, and/or DOT Cylinder Filling.
