Senior Human Resources Business Partner
Description
Distinguishing Features of the ClassThe senior human resources business partner (Senior HRBP) position is responsible for aligning human resource (HR) services with employees and management in designated City departments, including: civil service testing, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee relations, employee and organizational development, employee performance and other assigned work. The position serves as a liaison to department management on human resource-related issues. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs by communicating proactively with assigned departments. The position formulates partnerships across HR functions to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the goals and objectives of the City. The Senior HRBP maintains an effective level of understanding of assigned departments' operations, culture, goals and objectives. The Senior HRBP will serve as a team lead and may act in the absence of the Assistant Human Resources Director.
Acceptable Experience and Training- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources or a closely related field; and
- Substantial experience in recruitment and testing; and
- Considerable experience in the multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, safety, wellness, benefits and federal and state respective employment laws.

Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)- Performs all duties of the Human Resources Business Partner .
- Provides support on worker's compensation, evaluations, promotions, terminations and performance and disciplinary issues; employee counseling, EAP referrals and career opportunities.
- Attends pre-determination hearings and provides guidance to Departments on employee performance issues.
- Provides leadership to other HR staff.
- Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.

$93,787.20 - $118,872.00 Annually
