Description
Starting Salary: $49,371.60Job Location: This position is located at the Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?
This is important and rewarding work in the Consumer Affairs Division of DCI protecting the insurance buying public. This person would work within a team of Complaint Investigators and would handle life & health related complaints against insurers.
- Review and process consumer complaints, inquiries and phone calls for life & health lines of insurance.
- Participate in consumer outreach events.
- Function within internal complaint tracking system and paperless processes.
- Apply and discuss applicable statutes, rules, policies and procedures for life & health insurance.
- Interpret and explain provisions of life & health insurance policies and claim handling process.
- M aintain effective working relationships with the general public, insurance company representatives and state officials.
What are the qualifications for the position?
- Knowledge through a bachelor’s degree or work experience with specialization in insurance, risk management, business or public administration or closely related areas.
- Working knowledge of applicable insurance statutes and regulations as well as industry standards.
- Proficient with common computer applications.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
