Description
Limited Term Contract position available with The Convention and Entertainment Department located at Bartle Hall, 301 West 13th Street. Limited term contract will end April 30, 2026
Salary Range: $15.00/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies up to 40 hrs. per/week

Responsibilities
- Provides courteous, prompt, and professional customer service to patrons at the box office.
- Sells tickets for events using both cash and credit card transactions in a secure and efficient manner.
- Operates computerized ticketing systems to process orders and manage seat selections.
- Answers customer inquiries in person, via phone, or email regarding event schedules, ticket availability, and venue policies.
- Maintains accurate sales records and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Ensures compliance with all box office policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Resolves ticketing issues or discrepancies as needed.
- Collaborate with box office supervisors and event staff to ensure smooth front-of-house operations.
- Support additional administrative or event-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preference given for (1) year related experience preferred in box office ticket sales, or customer service at convention center facility.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
