Family & Children Medicaid - Eligibility Team Lead

What You'll Be DoingWake County is looking to hire an Eligibility Team Lead. In this role, you will serve as a lead worker for a Family & Children Medicaid team, providing advanced program assistance to clients and caseworker staff. You will oversee work quality, provide training, assign tasks, and support supervisors as needed.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to new staff who have completed classroom policy training.
- Deliver ongoing instruction on new policies, policy clarifications, and procedures identified through the QA process.
- Offer refresher training to experienced staff needing additional assistance.
- Assist caseworkers by troubleshooting cases, explaining policy decisions, and interpreting policies for clients and staff.
- Process cases by contacting clients, gathering necessary documents, assessing eligibility, and entering data into electronic systems.
- Assign work to caseworkers using daily spreadsheets and reports while monitoring pending applications and identifying potential issues.
- Support workflow by completing processing tasks for absent staff, employees on leave, and vacancies, as well as handling late applications or cases.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associates Degree
- 2 Years related Experience
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Current experience within the last two (2) years determining eligibility and providing case management for any of the following Economic Services Programs provided by a State or County Department of Social Services/Human Services - Family and/or Adult Medicaid or Work First
- Experience as a mentor, lead worker, team leader, or supervisor
- Spanish Language Skills are preferred but not required
