Job Location: Jefferson City, Missouri

The design support engineer coordinates department design, professional services, and/or local projects administration activities among districts, divisions and consultants. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

What you’ll do:

• Serves as a technical resource for department project managers and design personnel.
• Monitors progress and performs quality assurance of project activities and roadway design plans for compliance with department policies and procedures, federal regulations, and management directives.
• Advises Department personnel on non-motorized and ADA policy and serves as departmental expert of non-motorized and ADA policies, specifications, and standards plans according to current laws and identified best practices including development of non-motorized and ADA-related training.
• Coordinates with advocacy groups to ensure appropriate non-motorized policies are established and maintained.
• Represents the Department on nationwide task forces, technical committees and research boards.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
• Six years of progressive experience in highway or transportation engineering

Special Working Conditions:

• Job requires occasional statewide travel
• Remote locations will be considered
