A Sr. Contract Compliance Specialist position is available with The City of Fort Worth Fire Department Administration. The Fort Worth Fire Department protects one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country with a wide range of services, including: emergency preparedness, education, prevention and response.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Three years of contract drafting, negotiating skills and purchasing strategies experience
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications: - Principles and practices of finance and accounting.
- Methods and techniques of monitoring contract compliance
- Experience working in a high paced environment with competing deadlines
- Methods and techniques of conducting research
- Basic principles of contractual agreement law
The job responsibilities include: - Works with Legal department in leading and overseeing the development and improvement of standardized agreements
- Conducts routine program monitoring; reviews files, policies, procedures Answer questions related to the department’s activities, programs, policies, and procedures
- Contract renewals, amendments and drafting PeopleSoft Contracts as well as Cooperative Purchasing contracts (COOP’s) such as HGAC, GSA, etc.
- Overseeing contract compliance, contract issues and monitor contract performance
- Receive, review, and create requisitions and issue purchase orders
- Serves as backup for various staff positions in their absence
- Contribute to special projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
Physical Demand Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
