Definition

Under the general direction of the Director of Child Nutrition, the Child Nutrition-Assistant II provides support to the educational process at assigned food service location/s with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel; and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. The incumbents in this classification provide the school community with safely and reliably prepared and served food items at breakfast and lunch which directly supports student learning and achievement. Employment Standards/Minimum Qualifications

Experience Two years of work experience in school food services, menu planning, and basic nutrition preferred.
Education High School diploma or equivalency.

Examination Process

*PC RULES 5.2.1.2 -5.2.1.2 - In-house employees will have first consideration for the position. If less than three rankings qualify for the position, the Personnel Commission will move to outside candidates.

The examination process will include screening to ensure applications are complete and meet all minimum qualifications. No additional information will be accepted from applicants once the application has been submitted. Only the most qualified applicants, who pass the minimum qualifications review, will be invited to the examination process.

The examination process will include a proctored competency exam (100% weight) -TENTATIVE DATE - Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Those candidates achieving a passing score with a minimum of 70% on the competency exam will be placed on the Eligibility List.

The Eligibility List is valid for one (1) year from the certified date. The top three (3) ranks will be forwarded to the Hiring Authority for final interview and selection.
