This position is part of Public Health service area, which works to keep people healthy and safe by striving to improve and protect the health of people in Deschutes County. This work includes: disease prevention, surveillance and control; food and consumer safety; assuring clean and safe drinking water; ensuring access to essential health services; providing education about healthy lifestyles; implementing strategies to reduce and prevent high-risk behaviors among youth; and responding to pandemics and emerging threats, outbreaks and other events.

ABOUT THE JOBDeschutes County Health Services, Public Health Division is seeking a qualified and motivated Health Services Supervisor to lead the Family Support Services team that includes perinatal and young family direct services. Duties include but are not limited to, program planning, budgeting, program implementation, monitoring and coordinating, program evaluation, and potential direct service opportunities. Current state-level programs under the direction of this supervisor include Babies First, CaCoon, and Family Connects Oregon. The supervisor will assess services assigned and monitor compliance with program assurances tied to state and federal operational guidelines. The supervisor will also monitor financial and operational performance of programs in collaboration with the Program Manager. A strong commitment to fostering a learning environment for nurses and other staff, and using data to inform program level decisions is key. Success of the team is largely dependent on strong, relationship-based supervision.
This position functions as a key component of the department's leadership team. The supervisor will report to the Clinical & Families Services Program Manager. This position requires collaboration with other Public Health Program Managers and Supervisors, Health Services compliance, billing, and fiscal and business intelligence staff, Oregon Health Authority state program staff and a multitude of community partners.
The supervisor will need to possess effective interpersonal, technical, and project management skills and an understanding of reflective supervision practices. The supervisor will provide annual written evaluations and schedule regular one-on-one supervision for approximately 14 staff. This is a Monday through Friday, onsite position.
Key Responsibilities: - Program planning, budgeting, monitoring, coordination, evaluation, and supervising staff and direct service delivery.
- Assess services assigned and monitor compliance with program assurances tied to state and federal operational guidelines.
- Monitor financial and operational performance of programs in collaboration with department management.

Compensation$7,113.14 to $9,532.28 per month for a 172.67 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This position is available immediately.

This recruitment has been reopened until filled. Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as public health, health education, epidemiology, or nursing;
- AND five (5) years of experience in a public or community health program that includes at least one year of program supervisory or coordinator-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :- A Master’s degree in a related field, with three (3) years of experience in a community or public health program that includes one year of supervisory experience.
Necessary Special RequirementsDriving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Computer literacy with strong typing and computer skills is required.
