This position involves public interaction, emergency response, and proactive patrolling of park facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce Park District ordinances, rules, and regulationsProvide support and information to park usersPerform routine park patrols and respond to incidentsAssist with wildlife, safety hazards, lockouts, and minor obstructionsConduct security checks of buildings, restrooms, and rentalsRespond to first aid emergencies and provide CPR/AED/first aid as neededMaintain accurate logs and reportsCare for assigned vehicle and equipmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in criminal justice, parks and recreation, or related field (preferred)Certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards BoardMinimum 2 years of experience in law enforcement, recreation, or natural resource managementStrong knowledge of Illinois laws, local ordinances, and police proceduresValid driver's license and ability to pass a defensive driving courseCPR/AED and First Aid certifiedU.S. citizen, 21+ years of age, with corrected vision to 20/20Able to pass psychological and background checksStrong interpersonal and analytical skillsCommitted to public safety and natural resource preservationWorking ConditionsThis role requires physical fitness and the ability to perform duties in various weather and environmental conditions.
