Summary

NOW OFFERING LATERAL HIRE OPPORTUNITY AND ADDITIONAL PAY FOR TCOLE CERTIFICATION! Duties include receiving and dispatching emergency calls from citizens requesting police service; maintaining contact with police field units; entering, updating and retrieving information from teletype networks; and providing assistance in taking reports over the telephone. Duties require being able to work an eight or 12 hour shift covering a 24-hour period, and schedule will include weekends and some holidays. PAY GRADE GG19 / FULL PAY RANGE $27.63 - $38.96 PER HOUR ($57,480 - $81,048 ANNUALLY)CLOSING DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLEDMust have a high school diploma or equivalent and two years relevant experience; Computer Aided Dispatch, 911 or similar police-related experience preferred. If and when requested, must take and pass an assessment on Critical Personnel Selection Software. Must have, or be able to obtain within specified timeframe, TCOLE telecommunications proficiency certificate and state licensure. Duties involve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam and criminal history check.
