Purchasing And Inventory SpecialistThe Purchasing And Inventory Specialist is responsible for all purchasing and inventory functions at Great Northern Baking Company. We are looking for an individual who is committed to controlling costs and ensuring the accuracy of all information related to purchasing and inventory. The Inventory Specialist will report to the Production Manager.Essential Functions:Ensures inventory and cost of raw materials are accurate in FlexiBake -- responsible for entire purchasing and inventory processCreates purchase orders, receives, and verifies costs within FlexiBakeTroubleshoots inventory issues and communicates with production any relevant issuesInventory on hand not to exceed 10 days except for special order items.No ingredient shortages without determining there is no suitable back-up.Receiving accuracy, such as all invoices received and entered within two weeks.Cost control -- weekly communication on price variances more than 3%.Monitors fluctuations in product cost and acts and communicates accordinglyWorks with vendors to always ensure best possible pricingConducts weekly inventory of all raw materialsSourcing and securing truckloads of raw materials when appropriateWorks on production scheduling with the Production ManagerContinuous improvementPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipWho We Are:For almost 30 years, Great Northern Baking Company has been a small, made-from-scratch bakery in NE Minneapolis.
