Overview Crime Analyst I role at California Department of Justice. The position is assigned to the Missing Persons DNA Program (MPDP) and involves analyzing, evaluating, and indexing information from reports of unidentified dead and missing persons. The role provides liaison support to local law enforcement agencies, coroners, and medical examiners to ensure submitted reports are complete and accurate.The Crime Analyst I also supports laboratory staff, ensures samples are properly delivered, updates information in appropriate data systems, maintains the filing system, and writes reports documenting MPDP activities. The Crime Analyst I provides program support to the staff at the laboratory to ensure that samples are properly delivered, updates information into appropriate data systems, maintains the filing system, and writes reports to document the activities of the MPDP.
