Summary

BailiffThe Bailiff provides administrative assistance to the Judge and Court, assisting with conducting open court sessions and in the operation of the court. This is not a security or law enforcement position.Position Responsibilities:Assists with conducting open court sessions.Prepares pleadings and monitors court files for court sessions and/or the Judge's rulings.Updates files and the Court's case management system and updates matters within the queues.Assists judicial officers and staff during court proceedings, including remote sessions.Coordinates and assists with providing meals and secure areas for jurors during jury trials.Answers court telephones and responds to questions from court representatives and the general public.Assists with the effective management of the court calendar through confirmation of hearings with attorneys.Assists with other duties and responsibilities as needed.Qualifications:Minimum of a high school diploma or HSE. Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and civil and/or criminal procedures preferred. Strong technology, communication and organizational skills a must. Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals essential. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is critical. Excellent computer skills are required.This is not a security/law enforcement position. Salary enhancements for bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Burmese or ASL, as well as educational enhancements for an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, are part of the compensation package.
