Summary

Security OfficerUnder general supervision, provides security for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned; and to do other work as required.Position qualifications:Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.Education: Post high school vocation with specialized training is desirable.Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in law enforcement or private security/contract agency desired.Licensure/Certification: Possession of an appropriate valid California driver's license. Guard Card issued by the State of California. Employees must maintain a driving record, which meets the insurability requirements of Physicians for Healthy Hospitals, Inc.Knowledge & abilities:Knowledge of security systems, procedures and enforcement codes.Modern office methods and procedures.Ability to understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.Secure cooperation of department heads in accepting and carrying out sound security management practices.Keep abreast of developments in the field of security administration.Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Participate in Professional Assault Response Training.Participate in the International Association for Health Care Security and Safety "IAHASS".Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.
