Job TitlePort Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team! This position is under the direct supervision of the Marine Assets Marine Engineer to assist in the planning and budgeting of all maintenance and repairs of the Port's boats.This will include, but is not limited to, overseeing all maintenance and minor repairs of the main propulsion diesel engines, generators, auxiliary pumps, outboard motors, fire pumps, fire suppression systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and electronics.Essential FunctionsOversees the Preventive Maintenance Plan for all marine assetsOversees performance of Marine Technicians who complete preventative maintenance, calibrations, adjustments and minor repairs to the main propulsion diesel engines, generators, auxiliary pumps, outboard motors, fire pumps, fire suppression systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and electronics.Maintains equipment history recordsReads, interprets and follows owner's manual/manufacturers maintenance recommendationsResearches parts, materials and equipment necessary to complete jobsEnsures accurate, up-to-date inventory of tools and equipmentDirects and trains assigned team in daily general preventative maintenanceAssures mechanics' work area, tools and equipment are cleaned upon completion of assignmentsEnsures team members are properly attired daily with proper protective equipmentPlans work accordingly while taking into account importance of asset versus prevailing weather conditionsPlans and projects needs and changes to meet anticipated shifting conditions and performs other marine asset duties as required by the Marine EngineerAdheres to PCCA policy and department proceduresMaintains good employee relations and promotes teamworkPromotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulationsDrives Port-owned vehicles as necessary to complete assigned tasksSubject to random, post incident/accident, reasonable suspicion and rehabilitation monitoring drug and alcohol testing consistent with PCCA Substance Use & Abuse PolicyWorks, on average, eight hours per day Monday - Friday.Subject to recall on weekends, holidays and evenings though rareSubject to recall to duty at any time in the event of a critical incidentCPR certified or ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employmentTier 2 status designationCandidate ProfileThe preferred candidate for this position should be an organized, thorough, and disciplined individual with a focus on maintaining integrity in support of the PCCA. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp/handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
