IU POLICE DEPARTMENT (UA-PD-IUSEA)Indiana University (IU) Public Safety pursues the university's commitment to providing the greatest degree of safety for all members of the IU community, consistent with the university's mission and environment, applicable legal and professional standards, and available resources. IU Public Safety directly oversees areas including the IU Police Department, Emergency Management and Continuity, and Fire Safety and Loss Prevention, operating with a team of approximately 300 dedicated staff on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operational basis across all campuses.Completes all university and Indiana state law required training and receive necessary certifications to independently perform the duties and responsibilities of Patrol Officer - Intermediate.Assists experienced patrol officers and other public safety staff as needed to gain field experience.Demonstrates ability to independently patrol (solo patrol status) upon completion of training and attainment of certifications.This position is posted at a Foundational Career Level but may be filled at another level depending on the candidate's qualifications. Although they will be similar, the duties and responsibilities may differ if filled at another rank.
