Position OverviewThe County Caseworker 1 role with Monroe County Children & Youth Services gives you the chance to support families working through difficult times. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families across Monroe County.Job DutiesCase Assessment: Identify family needs and determine safety concerns for childrenService Coordination: Connect families with agencies and follow their progressHome Visits: Meet with families to observe living conditions and provide supportDocumentation: Record case details and prepare required reports accuratelyCollaboration: Work with courts, schools, and service teams to support family goalsWork ScheduleFull‑time employment.Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.Telework: not an option.Further communication regarding this position via email; check email and spam/junk folders for notices.Eligibility and QualificationsMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; orA bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 credits in those areas and one year as a County Social Services Aide 3 or similar paraprofessional case management.Applicants are considered to have met the educational requirements if they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.Other Requirements:PA residency requirement is currently waived.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal RequirementsYou must pass a background investigation.This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law; a conditional offer requires submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.Application InstructionsResumes, cover letters, and other documents will not be reviewed; information to support eligibility must be provided on the application (e.g., relevant, detailed experience/education).Attach copies of college transcripts for any claimed education.Application must be submitted by the closing date; late applications will not be accepted.Failure to comply with application requirements may eliminate you from consideration.All application materials and interview responses must reflect the applicant's own experience, qualifications, and work.
