Work Here!Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Part-Time Youth Specialist is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and supervision of youth in the Juvenile Leadership Academy (JLA). This position provides direct supervision to youth in a secure residential setting by enforcing program rules, promoting positive behavior and accountability, supervising daily activities, responding to emergencies, documenting resident behavior, and serving as a positive role model while supporting the rehabilitation and personal development of youth. Female applicants only.Minimum Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GEDMust be 21 years of age or olderOne year of Residential Supervision experience (preferred)Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public and othersValid Driver's LicenseEligible to certified as a Juvenile Supervision Officer, which requires completion of CPR, First Aid, and Handle With Care CertificationMust be available to work various shifts, to include nights and weekendsMust be a Female applicant.Salary: $ 20.89 per hour (up to 29 hours per week)Closing Date: Upon filling positionFor certain positions requiring certification, state standards shall disqualify an applicant if their criminal history reveals:1) A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole2) A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole3) Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
