About The University CorporationThe University Corporation is a non-profit auxiliary corporation providing commercial and administrative services to California State University, Northridge. Overview: The Navigators work with families and Regional Center consumers to identify services that will help them meet program goals such as increasing use of Regional Center and generic services. Tasks include completing pre/post service surveys, identifying individual goals and objectives for participants, helping the participants apply for services. Conducting in-person outreach, parent training, entering data, tracking activities, professional development, and duties as assigned.
This is a community-based position; work will take place in the community and occasionally in-person at our office(s), 25 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):
- Direct contact with parents and consumers:
These tasks include but are not limited to contacting parents/consumers by phone or email, conducting
intake process, conducting pre/post surveys, determining parent/consumer needs and assisting them
to meet those needs.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
These tasks include emailing, returning phone calls, recording information in our data management
system, and attending scheduled FFRC staff meetings and weekly CNP meetings.
- Outreach and Parent to Parent Support:
These tasks include but are not limited to attending parent support groups, outreach
activities to identify new program participants and find new community resources.
- Professional Development:
These tasks include but are not limited to attending training sessions.
Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and another language commonly spoken by the families served.
Lived experience as a parent, caregiver, or close family member of a child with a disability or developmental delay.
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Regional Center processes and services, special education and related disability services
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Attention to detail for accurate data collection
- Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively with a variety of people
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).
The anticipated hiring range: $19.00 -$21.00
Time Base: Part - Time
