DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
This position ensures the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors; prevents drowning and other accidents; responds to first aid incidents; represents the department and the Town in a responsible, courteous manner.
Examples of Duties
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:
- Actively guard and scan the pool area at all times; exhibit all standards of American Red Cross Lifeguard.
- Communicate unsafe practices and safety hazards to swimmers. Maintain order and safety in the pool, splash pad, and adjoining areas. Perform guarding duties and administer first aid.
- Be proficient and knowledgeable of swimming practices.
- Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties such as helping set up and tear down for activities, events, etc.
- Report all accidents to the appropriate authority. Follow all policies for reporting.
- Maintain daily cleanliness of facility, including all Health Codes and standards are met.
Typical Qualification
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- Candidates may be required to pass a background check and must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug screening.

COMPENSATION:
This is a seasonal position that runs through November 2026.
Hourly pay range is $16.07 to $16.87.
Seasonal employees are entitled to earn paid time off and accrue a minimum of 1 hour of general leave for every 30 hours worked. This position will work a part-time10-15 hour per week schedule.
