Position Description: The Department of Management and Marketing at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.

Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15 th .

Minimum Qualifications:
  • MBA or related graduate degree in the relevant field

OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience, both in the relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or related graduate degree in the relevant field
  • 3+ year’s work experience
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly to a diverse, undergraduate student body

Rank and Salary: Lecturer and salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Position’s appointment is subject to budgetary authorization.

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

Lecturer AY (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677

Lecturer AY (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224

Lecturer AY (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523

Lecturer AY (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Salary will be pro-rated for part-time assignments.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be satisfactorily completed. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
