Section: Procurement & Contracts

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to : Procurement Supervisor

Supervises the following positions : N/A

Review of personnel file, including but not limited: attendance history, disciplinary history, and performance evaluations

DEFINITION : Under direction, performs a diverse range of purchasing and contract related activities; collaborates with departments to identify and prepare Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ’s) and related methods of soliciting professional services; applies contractual standards and provides support for the consistent administration and management of contracts and bidding; coordinates the proposal review and evaluation process; assists management in completing purchase agreements; and performs related work as required.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS : This journey level classification is responsible for independently performing professional duties in support of purchasing and contract related activities for all District procurements. Positions at this level exercise judgment and initiative in their assigned tasks, receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience : Three (3) years of increasingly responsible. experience in purchasing, contract administration, procurement services, or a related field.

Licenses and Certifications : Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
