Acquisition Specialist/Technical Writer
Kalman & Company is seeking two Acquisition Specialist/Technical Writers who possess an active Top Secret Clearance to join our team in Washington, DC. These positions are tied to a government proposal effort. They are contingent upon a government award expected in the fall of 2026. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in federal acquisition processes and technical writing. The salary range is $120,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and refine various procurement documents for security-related projects for USSS review and approval.
- Assist in preparing acquisition strategies, market research reports, Justification & Approval (J&A) documents, and independent government estimates (IGEs).
- Support solicitation package development, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to clarify technical requirements and acquisition milestones.
- Track and manage acquisition timelines and deliverables.
- Maintain records of contract modifications and award documentation.
- Produce high-quality technical documents including design narratives, requirements documents, and risk assessments.
- Update and standardize construction project documentation, templates, and reference materials.
- Ensure document consistency, technical accuracy, and compliance with documentation standards.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) and MS Project.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret clearance is required.
- Familiarity with ORACLE, TOPS, CLM.
- The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in federal acquisition processes and technical writing.
