Summary
Overview SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships offer up to six months of on‑job industry training for eligible active‑duty service members, enabling them to gain work experience, build professional networks, and prepare for full‑time civilian roles.Responsibilities Assemble complex electronic and mechanical components and subassemblies according to detailed diagrams and drawings.Perform quality inspections and tests on assembled products.Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues.Maintain and calibrate assembly tools and equipment.Document and report production activities and any discrepancies.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Assist in training and mentoring junior production technicians.Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes.Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.Qualifications You Must Have Currently serving as active duty military and eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.High school diploma or GED equivalent.1+ year as a technician or in a related field.Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.Basic understanding of manufacturing principles.Experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors.Qualifications We Prefer Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.OSHA 10‑Hour Training certification.Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.Essential Functions Perform assembly tasks, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.Operate and maintain assembly tools and equipment, requiring hand/finger dexterity.Stand for extended periods during the work shift.Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.Ability to travel may be required.For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.Security Clearance This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
