Description

Under the administrative direction of the Vice Chancellor, Educational Services & Institutional Effectiveness and in accordance with the provision of the Education Code, the rules and regulations of the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, and the policies of the District, the District Director, Trade and Training provides leadership for the District’s Training Institute and International Trade program and leads its efforts in business and trade development, both domestic and international, in order to increase, expand and/or enhance workforce training opportunities for students, faculty, and community members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of increasingly responsible experience in international trade, global business administration, global logistics, foreign market research, grants management, or business and marketing plan development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred and may be substituted for two years of experience.

The referenced experience would likely be gained working with domestic and international contract educational training programs, development, facilitation and management of not-for-credit and/or noncredit career development training programs, grant-funded program management, California industrial and agricultural commodities and international trade or experience living or working outside of the United States.

A background in community college education is preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Certain assignments may require a California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Districts vehicle insurance program.

A valid passport and the ability to engage in international travel are required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee works under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet. The employee may be required to travel to locations other than assigned work site, including travel internationally, and to adjust to work schedule changes and requirements.
