A Data Analyst Intern position is available with the City of Fort Worth District 10 Council Office.
The City of Fort Worth is seeking a motivated intern to provide analytical research support for the District 10 City Council Office. In this role, you will assist District Directors in a variety of data analysis projects, including but not limited to, budgetary, fiscal, and operational. As an intern, you will collaborate closely with the District 10 team to support data analysis efforts. Your contribution will play a key role in keeping our community informed, connected, and engaged.
The Data Analyst Intern may work up to 19 hours per week. The internship is expected to conclude on September 30, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications: - No previous work experience is required, however, highly recommended
- Working towards a specialization in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate's degree from an accredited college or university with good academic standing and major coursework in Economics, Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting study. Including students who have completed a Financial Planning Extended Learning Program, Financial Planning Academy, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications: - Skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Methods of research, program analysis and report preparation
- Principles of budget preparation, analysis, forecasting and control
- Basic principles and practices of municipal accounting
The Data Analyst Intern job responsibilities include: - Provides a variety of analytical and research support; analyzes and makes recommendations for the solution of budgetary, fiscal or operational concerns and issues
- Reviews, analyzes, examines, and monitors financial records, revenues, expenditures, balances, budget and actuals
- Gather, organize, and interpret data to support policy discussions and community initiatives
- Help draft summaries, reports, and presentations
- Monitor community concerns, track inquiries, and assist with follow-up communication
- Participate in meetings, events, and outreach efforts alongside District Directors
