Water Department - Supply Treatment Division Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01 per hour
Work Location: 1 NW Briarcliff Rd
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

What you'll do
- Participate in custodial and minor maintenance services at a public building, caring for buildings and equipment.
- Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors.
- Wash walls, woodwork, and blinds.
- Dust furniture and other articles.
- Provide ground maintenance on the outside of buildings.
What success looks like
- The building is consistently clean, sanitary, and presentable during all operating hours.
- Floors, surfaces, and shared spaces are maintained according to established custodial standards.
- Equipment and cleaning materials are used correctly, safely, and efficiently.
- Outdoor areas are kept orderly and well-maintained.
- Work is completed reliably with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
What you'll bring
- Knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and procedures.
- At least six (6) months of experience in custodial care and limited general maintenance of buildings.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement.
- Dependability, strong work ethic, and pride in maintaining public spaces.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and established procedures.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
